Senior Tax Accountant/CPA/Tax Manager Position Could Lead to Ownership

Callier Witt CPAs is a full service CPA Firm providing Tax, Accounting, and Advisory Services. The Tax Manager will focus primarily on Tax and Advisory Client Relationships.

We are currently seeking a full time Senior Tax Accountant/CPA/Tax Manager to join the firm with the opportunity for advancement which could lead to ownership.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing Moderate to Complex Tax Returns, including Individual, Corporate, Partnership, Fiduciary, Estate and Tax Exempt
  • Tax Planning and Income Projections that involve Information Essential to Delivering Tax Services
  • Analyzing IRS Notices and Formulating Responses
  • Researching Complex Tax Situations and Strategies
  • Reviewing Tax Returns and Financial Statements Prepared by Other Staff

Required Experience
  • “5+ Years of Tax Consulting and Compliance Experience in Public Accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting/Taxation
  • Licensed CPA
  • Excellent Analytical, Technical and Tax Accounting Skills
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal, Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Detail Oriented, Ability to Multi-Task and Self-Motivated”
Additional Qualifications A Plus But Not Required
  • Knowledge of Lacerte Tax Software
  • Estates and Trusts
  • QuickBooks Pro Advisor Certified”

Staff Accountant

The Ideal Candidate will be an Experienced Accountant Responsible for Timely and Accurate Preparation of Financial Accounting Data in a Variety of Areas. It is Essential that this Candidate Brings Analytical and Organizational Skills in Order to Best Support the Accounting Team.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain Client Primary Financial Data for Accounting Records
  • Reconcile and Record Numerical Data
  • Responsible for: General Ledger Processing, Month End and Year End Journal Entries, Recording Depreciation, Preparation of Financial Statements to include Balance Sheet and Income Statement, Payables and Receivables
  • Recording Transactions for Multiple Investment Accounts
  • Sales Tax Returns and Payments
  • Payroll Calculations and Processing
  • Payroll Tax Payments for Federal and State
  • Quarterly Payroll Tax Returns and Payments
  • Preparation of all Occupation and Personal Property Tax Returns
  • Insurance Audits
  • Applications for Federal and State ID Numbers
  • Preparation of Forms 1099 and W-2
  • Assist with Tax Planning”
Qualifications
  •  2 – 5 Years’ Experience in Public Accounting
  • Ability to Prioritize and Multitask in Order to Meet Multiple Deadlines
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Self Motivated, Detail Oriented and Able to Work Independently
  • Maintain Client Relations and Communications
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Certification a Plus
